FEDERAL SPECIFICATION
RESPIRATOR ASSEMBLY: HALF MASK, AIR-PURIFYING PARTICULATE-FILTER
(FOR DUSTS, FUMES, AND MISTS)
This specification is approved for use by the Naval Facilities
Engineering Command, Department of the Navy, and is available for
use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
The Complete requirements for procuring the respirators described herein
shall consist of this document and the issue in effect of GGG-M-125/GEN.
1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Scope. This specification covers the requirements for air-purifying,
half-mask respirators with filters for removing dust, metal fumes, or mists
from air.
1.2 Classification. Half-mask respirators covered by this specification
shall be of the following types, styles, models, and sizes as specified (see
6.2):
Type I - Replaceable filter(s)
Style A - Single filter
Style B - Dual filter
Type II - Non-replaceable filter (disposable)
Style A - single filter
Model 1 - Dust, fume, and mist
Model 2 - Dust, fume, mist, and radionuclides (High efficiency filter)
Size 1 - Small
Size 2 - Medium
Size 3 - Large
