FEDERAL SPECIFICATION
WHEELBARROWS
This specification was approved by the Assistant Administrator, Office of
Federal Supply and Services, General Services Administration, for the use
of all Federal Agencies.
1.
SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Scope.
This specification covers wheelbarrows for commercial,
institutional,
and home use in transportation of construction and other
materials.
1.1.1 Federal specification coverage. Federal specifications do not include
all varieties of the commodity as indicated by the title of the specification or
which are commercially available, but are intended to cover only those generally
used by the Federal Government.
1.2 Classification.
1.2.1 Types, classes, and styles. Wheelbarrows covered by this specification
shall be of the following types, classes,
and styles as specified (see 6.2):
Type I -
General utility.
Class 2 -
Large capacity.
Style A -
Steel pipe or tube frame and handles,
Style B -
Wood frame and handles.
Type II -
Contractors.
Class 1 - General purpose.
Class 2 - Concrete.
