FEDERAL SPECIFICATION
ICE CREAM PLANTS
This specification is approved by the Commissioner, Federal
Supply Service, General Services Administration, for the use
of all Federal agencies.
1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Scope. This specification covers two sizes of ice cream plants, each
consisting of an electric-motor-driven, mechanically refrigerated ice cream
freezer and a mechanically refrigerated ice cream hardening cabinet.
1.2 Classification. The ice cream plant shall be of the following sizes as
specified (see 6.2):
Size 1 - Consisting of a freezer with 10-quart batch capacity and a
hardening cabinet with 35-gallon storage capacity
Size 2 - Consisting of a freezer with 20-quart batch capacity and a
hardening cabinet with 60-gallon storage capacity
