FEDERAL SPECIFICATION
SCRAPER-TRACTORS: EARTH MOVING, HYDRAULIC OPERATED,
12 AND 20 CUBIC YARD MINIMUM HEAPED CAPACITY, DED
This specification is approved by the Commissioner, Federal
Supply Service, General Services Administration, for the use
of all Federal agencies.
1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Scope. This specification covers self-propelled, diesel-engine-driven,
hydraulic operated, 12 and 20 cubic yard (cu yd) heaped capacity, earth moving,
scraper-tractors.
1.2 Classification.
1.2.1 Types. The scraper-tractors furnished under this specification shall
be of the following types as specified (see 6.2):
Type I - Two Driven Traction Wheels, 4 by 2
Type II - Four Driven Traction Wheels, 4 by 4
Type III - Four Driven Traction Wheels, 6 by 4
