amendment which forms a part of Federal Specification
00-W-860D, dated
April 27, 1976, was approved by the Commiaaioner,
Federal Supply Service, General Services Administration, for the
uae of all Federal agencies.

2.1, under Federal Specification:
Add “cc+-1807 - Meters, Alternating
Current, Fractional and Integral Horsepnver (500 Hnrsepover and Smaller)

3.5.1, 3rd and 4th sentences : Delete and substitute “When So Hertz operation
is specified (see 6.2) enclosed terminals shall be provided in lieu of cord and
plug for Type I and Type II, Class 1 appliances.
Md the follmuing new paragraph in proper sequence:
“3.5.2 I%tors.
Motors shall conform to the requirements of CC-M-1807 and
the folkving:
(a) All nmtor windings shall be able to resist the absorption of
moisture.
(b) Each rxxor ehall have the proper starting characteristic and
ample power with a reasonable factor of safety conrnensuratewith the appli-
cation and expected duty cycle to which each mntor might be subjected under
normal operatin8 conditions.
(c) Motor bearings shall be of the permanently lubricated type or
shall have adequate and accessible means fcr lubricating.
(d) Each !mtor of 1/8 h/p rating or larger shall be previded with
thermal overload protection incorporated as a part of the mntor or installed
in the controller”.
