DECK COVERING UNDERLAY MATERIALS
This specification
has
been
approved by
the
Department of Defense and
Is
man-
datory
for
use
by
the
Departments
of
the
Army, the Navy and
the
Air
Force.
1. SCOPE
1.1
Scope. - This specification
covers
deck covering underlay
materials
to
smooth up
the
surfaces
of
steel
decks
before
applying deck
covering
materials.
1.2
Classification. - Deck covering underlay
materials
shall
be
of
the
following types,
as
specified
(see
6.2):
Type
I -
For
use
under
ceramic
tile,
terrazzo
and
other
mastic
deck covering
materials.
Type 1I -
For
use
under
linoleum and plastiC
tile,
deck
tile
and
other
similar
preformed
deck
cover-
ing
materials.

a
part

this
