CONTACTORS AND CONTROLLERS, ELECTRIC MOTOR
AC OR DC, AND ASSOCIATED SWITCHING DEVICES
This specification is approved for use by the Naval Sea Systems Command and is available for use by all
Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope
. This specification covers alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) motor controllers and
associated switching devices. Included are manual and magnetic controllers, controller parts, limit switches,
pressure switches, temperature switches, selector switches, push-buttons, and similar devices used for control of
electric motors. Semiconductor (solid-state) devices used as parts for magnetic controllers are included.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

. The documents listed in this section are specified in sections 3, 4, or 5 of this specification. This
section does not include documents cited in other sections of this specification or recommended for additional
information or as examples. While every effort has been made to ensure the completeness of this list, document
