This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 SCOPE
. This specification covers five types of steel reels for use in storing and transporting field
wire and cable, designated as reels DR-5( ), DR-7( ), DR-8( ), RC-453( )/G and RL-159( )/U (see 6.4).
