This supporting manual implements AFPD 11-2, Aircrew Operations and supports AFI 11-200,
Aircrew Training, Standardization/Evaluation, and General Operations Structure, and AFI 11-
202, Vol 3, General Flight Rules, by establishing specific policy for the operation of the C-5
aircraft. This is a specialized publication intended for use by Airmen who have graduated from
technical training related to this publication. It applies to all commanders, operations supervisors,
and aircrew assigned or attached to all flying activities of commands operating C-5 aircraft. This
publication is applicable to Air Force Reserve (AFR) units. This publication is not applicable to
the Air National Guard (ANG). Ensure that all records created as a result of processes prescribed
in this publication are maintained IAW Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 33-363, Management of
Records, and disposed of in accordance with Air Force Records Information Management System
Records Disposition Schedule. The authorities to waive wing/unit level requirements in this
publication are identified with a Tier (“T-0, T-1, T-2, T-3”) number following the compliance
statement. See AFI 33-360, Publications and Forms Management, for a description of the
authorities associated with the Tier numbers. Submit requests for waivers through the chain of
command to the appropriate Tier waiver approval authority, or alternately, to the Publication OPR
