This volume implements policy guidance in AFPD 11-2, Aircrew Operations; AFPD 11-4,
Aviation Service; and AFMAN 11-202V3, Flight Operations. It provides the basis for worldwide
employment of the E-8 Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System. This publication applies
to the Regular Air Force and Air National Guard (ANG) aircrews. The Air Force Reserve do not
operate the E-8 aircraft. This publication does not apply to the United States Space Force (USSF).
All aircrews will follow this volume, which prescribes standard operating procedures and
restrictions. Complementary references are included. Flying safety will not be compromised.
Issue this volume to E-8 aircrew members in accordance with local procedures. Ensure all records
generated as a result of processes prescribed in this publication adhere to Air Force Instruction 33-
322, Records Management and Information Governance Program, and are disposed in accordance
with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule, which is located in the Air Force Records
Information Management System. Contact supporting record managers as required. This manual
requires the collection and or maintenance of information protected by the Privacy Act of 1974
authorized by Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 5400.11, DoD Privacy Program and
