SUBJECT: Department of the Air Force Guidance Memorandum (DAFGM) to Department of
the Air Force Manual (DAFMAN) 36-2032, Military Recruiting and Accessions
By order of the Secretary of the Air Force, this Department of the Air Force Guidance
Memorandum (DAFGM) immediately implements changes to Department of the Air Force
Manual (DAFMAN) 36-2032, Military Recruiting and Accessions. Compliance with this
guidance memorandum is mandatory. To the extent the guidance memorandum’s directions are
inconsistent with other Department of the Air Force publications, the information herein prevails,
in accordance with DAFMAN 90-161, Publishing Processes and Procedures. Unless otherwise
stated, this guidance memorandum is applicable to the Regular Air Force, United States Space
Force (USSF), Air Force Reserve, and Air National Guard.
This memorandum establishes the Stripes for Referrals program (Attachment 1), Stripes
for Cyber Certifications (Attachment 2), Stripes for Education (Attachment 3), updates terms of
enlistment (Attachment 4), and updates Table 3.1, Entry Grade Determination for Non-Prior
Service Enlistees. (Attachment 5).
This memorandum also re-issues policy from prior guidance memorandum DAFMAN36-
2032_DAFGM2023-01 to include Attachments 6-10. Attachment 6 provides clarification for
Officer Training School (OTS) accession policy as written in paragraph 7.4.3.2.3.2 with
contractual statements for pregnant applicants and candidate selects. Attachment 7 updates DAF
guidance for OTS class assignment timelines and updates waiver authorities for members opting-
in prior to 6 months post-partum. Attachment 8 establishes a pilot program that lifts the
permanent ban on enlistment as written in paragraph 3.6.10 for applicants who test positive for
tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), Cannabidiol (CBD), other marijuana byproducts, or it’s derivatives
during accession physical examination at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) and
provides for an opportunity to retest in accordance with the guidance contained herein.
Attachment 9 provides guidance on reinstatement of the Enlisted College Loan Repayment
Program (ECLRP) for policy as written in paragraph 3.11 with total repayments not to exceed
$65,000 per qualified loan for Regular Air Force (RegAF) only. Attachment 10 updates
