SUBJECT: Department of the Air Force Guidance Memorandum (DAFGM) to Department of
the Air Force Manual (DAFMAN) 40-201, Radioactive Materials (RAM)
Management.
By Order of the Secretary of the Air Force, this Department of the Air Force Guidance
Memorandum immediately redesignates AFMAN 40-201, Radioactive Materials (RAM)
Management, as a Department of the Air Force Manual (DAFMAN) and implements changes to
reflect updated policy to maintain compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission
requirements. Compliance with this Memorandum is mandatory. To the extent its directions are
inconsistent with other Department of the Air Force publications, the information herein prevails,
in accordance with Air Force Instruction (DAFI) 90-160, Publications and Forms Management.
This publication applies to civilian employees and uniformed members of the Regular Air
Force, United States Space Force, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard. Specific changes
are listed in the attachment; the paragraphs listed replace or update the corresponding paragraphs
within AFMAN 40-201.
The Memorandum becomes void after one-year has elapsed from the date of this
Memorandum, or upon incorporation of an Interim Change to, or rewrite of DAFMAN 40-201,
whichever is earlier.
