This Department of the Air Force Pamphlet (DAFPAM) is the process guide for the Department
of the Air Force Risk Management (DAF RM) process. This publication implements Air Force
Policy Directive (AFPD) 90-8, Environmental, Safety & Occupational Health Management and
Risk Management, and supports the DAF RM requirements and processes outlined under Air Force
Instruction (AFI) 90-802, Risk Management. This pamphlet provides the definitions, guidelines,
procedures and tools for integration and execution of RM as a risk reduction process to assist
leaders in identifying and controlling safety and health hazards in making informed decisions. This
pamphlet applies to individuals at all levels who are uniformed military members or civilian
employees of the Regular Air Force, Air Force Reserve, the Air National Guard, the US Space
Force (USSF), and those who are contractually obligated to comply with Department of the Air
Force (DAF) publications. Ensure all records generated as a result of processes prescribed in this
publication adhere to AFI 33-322, Records Management and Information Governance Program,
and disposed of in accordance with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule, which is located
in the Air Force Records Information Management System. Refer recommended changes and
questions about this publication to the Office of Primary Responsibility using the AF Form 847,
Recommendation for Change of Publication; route AF Forms 847 from the field through the Major
Command (MAJCOM)/Field Command (FLDCOM) publications/forms managers. This
DAFPAM may be supplemented at any level, but all supplements must be routed to AFSEC/SEG
for coordination prior to certification and approval. The use of the name or mark of any specific
