This Department of the Air Force Policy Directive (DAFPD) implements and supports Department
of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8260.05, Support for Strategic Analysis (SSA). This directive
establishes Department of the Air Force (DAF) policy for governance and management of studies
and analysis under the direction of the Director, DAF Studies and Analysis (SAF/SA). This
directive applies to all uniformed members of the Regular Air Force, the Air Force Reserve, the
Air National Guard, the United States Space Force (USSF), the Civil Air Patrol when conducting
missions as the official Air Force Auxiliary, all DAF civilian employees, and those with a
contractual obligation to abide by the terms of DAF issuances. This DAFPD may not be
supplemented. Refer recommended changes and questions about this publication to the office of
primary responsibility listed above using the DAF Form 847, Recommendation for Change of
Publication; route DAF Forms 847 from the field through the appropriate chain of command.
Ensure all records generated as results of processes prescribed in this publication adhere to Air
Force Instruction 33-322, Records Management and Information Governance Program, and are
disposed in accordance with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule, which is located in the
Air Force Records Information Management System. The use of the name or mark of any specific
non-federal entity, manufacturer, commercial product, commodity, or service in this publication
