SUBJECT: Air Force Guidance Memorandum to DoDM5210.42_AFMAN 13-501, Nuclear
Weapons Personnel Reliability Program (PRP)
By Order of the Secretary of the Air Force, this Department of the Air Force Guidance
Memorandum immediately implements changes to DoDM5210.42_AFMAN 13-501, Nuclear
Weapons Personnel Reliability Program (PRP). Compliance with this memorandum is
mandatory. To the extent its directions are inconsistent with other Department of the Air Force
publications, the information herein prevails, in accordance with Department of the Air Force
Instruction (DAFI) 33-360, Publications and Forms Management. Compliance with the
attachments in this publication is mandatory.
This memorandum clarifies Air Force Competent Medical Authority (CMA) medical evaluation
requirements for Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) Initial Certification to reduce
unnecessary duplication of effort among CMAs.
This memorandum standardizes the notification time and mandatory notification requirements
between the Personnel Reliability Program and Arming Use of Force Programs. It also updates
the definition of “notification” to make it clear that the Competent Medical Authority (CMA)
must provide enough information to commanders to enable informed decisions.
This memorandum becomes void after one year has elapsed from the date of this memorandum,
or upon publishing of an interim change to, or rewrite of DoDM5210.42_AFMAN 13-501,
whichever is earlier.
