This pamphlet series supports Air Force Instruction (AFI) 10-209, RED HORSE Program, and
AFI 10-210, Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force Program. This volume of this pamphlet
series provides guidance and procedures for repairing war-damaged airfield operating surfaces.
It applies to Air Force Civil Engineer Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force (BEEF) members
and RED HORSE who perform airfield damage repair (ADR) operations, including Air National
Guard (ANG) units and Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC). In addition to information on
ADR techniques, it also addresses damage assessment, minimum airfield operating surface
(MAOS) selection, repair quality |criteria (RQC) and airfield marking. Airfield recovery
procedures are in the process of transforming to address new adversarial threats. For
guidance to keep abreast of these changes new processes are being researched, developed,
tested, and fielded and codified in individual Air Force Tactics, Techniques, and
Procedures (AFTTP). These AFTTPs will take precedence over this publication until it can
be revised to reflect the changes and reference the new guidance. Ensure that all records
created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with
(IAW) Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 33-363, Management of Records, and disposed of IAW Air
Force Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) located in the Air Force Records Information
Management System (AFRIMS). The use of the name or mark of any specific manufacturer,
commercial product, commodity, or service in this publication does not imply endorsement by
