This mission directive (MD) implements policy and guidance in Air Force Instruction (AFI) 38-
101, Manpower and Organization. Its purpose is to prescribe unit mission, command
relationship, and responsibilities of the USAF Warfare Center (USAFWC). This mission
directive applies to USAFWC and subordinate active duty units and personnel. Ensure that all
records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in
accordance with (IAW) AFI 33-322, Records Management and Information Governance
Program, and disposed of IAW the Air Force Records Information Management System Records
Disposition Schedule. Refer recommended changes and questions about this publication to the
Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) using AF Form 847, Recommendation for Change of
Publication; route AF Forms 847 from the field through the appropriate functional chain of
command. This publication may not be supplemented. The authorities to waive wing/unit level
requirements in this publication are hereby identified as T-2. See DAFI 33-360, Publications
and Forms Management, for a description of the authorities associated with the Tier numbers.
Submit requests for waivers through the chain of command to the appropriate Tier waiver
approval authority.
1. Mission. The USAFWC ensures Airmen have the best integrated, advanced training, most
capable, operationally agile equipment, and most effective tactics available to conduct joint, all
domain combat operations - today and tomorrow. The USAFWC serves as the Headquarters for
four Wings (57th Wing, 53d Wing, 99th Air Base Wing, and 505th Command and Control
Wing) and two named units (Nevada Test and Training Range and Air Force Joint Test Program
Office).
