This publication implements AFPD 11-2, Aircrew Operations, and AFI 11-200, Aircrew Training,
Standardization/Evaluation, and General Operations Structure. It contains the basic principles,
procedures, and techniques applicable to all Air Education and Training Command (AETC)
personnel operating T-1A aircraft. With the exception of personnel participating in an AETC
Associate Instructor program, this supplement does not apply to Air Force Reserve Command
(AFRC) or Air National Guard (ANG) units unless specified by MAJCOM Memorandum of
Understanding. While this manual primarily addresses the student pilot, it provides the general
guidelines for all T-1A aircrew. It addresses basic flying tasks and planning considerations and is
designed to be used in conjunction with AFMAN 11-2T-1V1, T-1A Aircrew Training; AFMAN
11-2T-1V2, T-1A Aircrew Evaluation Criteria; AFMAN 11-2T-1V3, T-1A Operations
Procedures; and technical order (TO) 1T-1A-1, Flight Manual, USAF Series T-1A Aircraft.
This manual presents a solid foundation on which student training missions can be accomplished
and instructor continuation training maintained. When you encounter situations not specifically
covered by this publication, use safety considerations as a guide in determining the best course of
action.
This publication may not be supplemented. The authorities to waive wing/unit level requirements
in this publication are identified with a Tier (“T-0, T-1, T-2, T-3”) number following the
compliance statement. Unless otherwise specified, waiver authority is explicitly restricted to 19
AF/DO for this publication. Send waiver requests through Stan/Eval channels to 19AF/DO using
