This instruction implements Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 10-35, Battlefield Airmen. It
establishes procedures governing the authority and administration of the United States Air Force
(USAF) Personnel Parachute Program, parachute qualifications and requirements and procedures
applicable to premeditated personnel parachuting. This publication applies to all regular Air Force,
Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard and Department of the Air Force civilian personnel
involved in deliberate personnel parachute missions, training, support, or administration. For the
purposes of this Air Force Instruction (AFI), all references to Major Commands (MAJCOMs) are
intended to also reference or include the Air National Guard. The applicable system of records
