Use/relationship:
This plan describes the contractor’s maintainability program, how it will be con-
ducted and the controls and monitoring provisions levied on subcontractors and
vendors. It describes in detail the specific techniques and tasks to be performed and
their integration and development in conjunction with other specified related plans.
The principal uses are to provide the contracting activity a basis for review and eval-
uation of the contractor’s maintainability program (and its proposed components)
and for determining contractual compliance.
Requirements:
1. Reference documents. The applicable issue of the documents cited herein,
including their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and
revisions, shall be as specified in the contract.
2. Content. The Maintainability Program Plan shall identify, describe, and tie
together those maintainability program components described in paragraph 101.2 of
Task 101, “Maintainability Program Plan” of MIL-STD-470 as tailored to the par-
ticular need of the acquisition program.
3. Format. The format of the plan shall be in accordance with ANSI Z39.18, “Sci-
entific and Technical Reports: Organization, Preparation, and Production”.
