Use, Relationships: The Configuration Audit Summary Report provides text and marked-up
technical documents (e.g., specifications, engineering drawings) which identify discrepancies
between the material (including software) and the requirements delineated in the applicable
technical documents. Depending on the type of audit, the identified discrepancies may be
attributable to the material, technical documents, or both.
This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format, content, and preparation instructions for
the data product resulting from the work task specified in the contract.
This DID is applicable to contracts that require the contractor to perform a configuration audit of
material and applicable technical documents. It may be used in conjunction with a contractual
requirement for a Functional Configuration Audit (FCA), Physical Configuration Audit (PCA),
or any other audit used to identify discrepancies between material and the applicable technical
documents.

This DID supersedes DI-CMAN-81022B.
Requirements:
1. Reference documents. The applicable issue of any documents cited herein, including
their approval dates and dates of any applicable amendments, notices, and revisions, shall be as
specified in the contract.
2. Format and content. The Configuration Audit Summary Report shall be prepared in
contractor format. The plan content shall be in accordance with the contractor’s processes and
procedures, or as specified in the contract. The following references may be useful in further
defining content: ANSI/EIA-649-1998, National Consensus Standard for Configuration
Management (paragraph 5.5.2); ISO 10007, Quality Management-Guidelines for Configuration
Management; and MIL-HDBK-61, Configuration Management Guidance (paragraphs 6.2 and
6.3).
