administrativeServicesAct of 1949,as amended,and its applicationto
purchaseof camoditiesreferredto hereinis mandatoryon all Federal
agencies,

The purposeof thisstandardis the establishmentof a standard~is~ of
sharpeningstonesas requiredfor oridinarymaintenancepurposesby Governmentactivities.
standardwillkeep thevarietiesof suchsharpeningstoneswhichare to be procuredand stockedto
theminimumconsistentwith suchrequirements.
The nonstandarditemslistedwillno longerbe
authorizedfor procurement.
S2. Application.
Purchasesof sharpeningstonesunderFederalSpecificationSS-S-736of the issue
in effecton dateof invitationfor bids shallbe limitedto the itemslistedherein. ExistingGovern-
ment stocksof sharpeningstoneslistedas nonstandarditemsshallbe issueduntilexhausted.
In those
caseswherethisFederal.Standardeliminatessupplyitemsand the itemsso eliminated~eunder contract,
if the contractcannotbe negotiatedor amendedto conformto the standsrditems,theFederalStandard
becomesmandatoryat the contractexpirationdate.
S3* Standarditems. The standarditemswiththeirapplicableFederalStockNumbershallconform
to the characteristicslistedin the followingtables:
