AIRPLANE STRENGTH AND RIGIDITY
GROUND TESTS
This specification is approved for use within the Naval
Air Systems Command, Department of the Navy, and is
available for use by all Departments and Agencies of the
Department of Defense.
1.
SCOPE
1.1 Scope.
T’hlsspecification contains the requirements which, in
combination with other applicable specifications, define the ground tests
required for structural evaluation of fixed w~ng piloted atrplanes.
The
types of testing include, but are not llmited to:
a.
Oesign development tests.
b. Pre-production component tests.
c.
Static tests-complete airframe.
d. Fatigue tests-complete airframe.
e.
Qrop tests of structurally complete airframe.
f. Cabin pressure tests.

Leakage tests of integral fuel tanks.
h. Structural dynamic tests.

Proof tests for flight articles.
