1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope.

This specification covers filter-separators and filter elements which are suitable for re-
moval of both entrained water and solids from aviation petroleum fuels conforming to MIL-G-5572 and
MIL-F-5624, and Diesel fuel oil conforming to MIL-F-16884, These filter-separators are hereinafter re-
ferred to as filters. The filters are for shipboard use.
1.2 Classification, -
Filters shall be of the following classes, as specified (see 6.1).
Class 1 - With automatic drain and fuel shut off controls,
Class 2 - Without automatic drain and fuel shut off controls.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 The following documents of the issue in effect on ‘date of invitation for bids, form a part of this
specification to the extent specified herein.
