MILITARY SPECIFICATION
GUARDS , RAT, SHIP
This smendment forms a part of kiIL-G-2767C, dated 27 April 1983, and is
approved for use by all Departments and Agent ies of the Department of
Defense.

1.1: Delete and substitute:
“1.1 w. This specification covers one type of rat guard that prevents
rats from boarding ships by way of mooring lines. “

3.1.4, last line:
Delete “specifically”.
3.3: Delete and substitute: ,

The metal sleeve shall be slotted as specified both in table
I and on figure 1.
When the rat guard is in place, the slotted sleeve shall be
drawn tightly with lashing against the hawser. To ensure compact shipping, the
formed sleeve shall be tapered to permit nesting of the rat guards. ”
