MILITARY SPECIFICATION
LAMPS, INCANDESCENT, AIRCRAFT SERVICE
GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and
Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1.
SCOPE
1.1 *. This specification provides the general and environmental
performance requirements for incandescent lamps intended for use primarily in
mil itary aircraft applications.
1.2 Classifications.
Lamps covered by this specification will be of
the following types, as specified in the applicable specification sheet.
Type I -
General purpose lamps suitable for use in applications
at ambient temperatures from -550C (-670F) up to 850C
(1850F).
Type II -
Special purpose lamps suitable for use in applications
at ambient temperatures from -550C (-670F) and above
850C (1850F).
1.3 Part identifying numbers.
Lamp part identifying numbers shall be
as specified in the applicable detail specification (see 6.7).

The following specifications,
standards, and handbooks form a part of this document to the extent specified
herein. Unless otherwise specified, the issues of these documents are those
listed In the issue of the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and
