This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies
of the Department of Defense.

SCOPE
1.1 Scope.
This specification covers standard studs, bolts, hex cap
screws,
socket head cap screws,
and nuts in diameters of 1/4 inch and larger
for critical applications where a high degree of reliability is required.
