VALVE, TEMPERATURE IREGULATING
VENTILATION HEATER, STIZAM CONTROL,
NAVAL SHIPBOARD USE
This amendment forms apart of Military Specification M.KL- V-3 155C(SH1PS),
19 August 1964.
Page 2,paragraph 3.4.2: Delete and substitute:
“3.4.2 Shock.
- The temperature regulating valve shall be designed such
that it is capable of passing the high impact (H. I. ) shock test in

for grade A, class I equipment. “

Qualification inspectim~

Qualification inspection shall be con-
ducted on each model temperature regulating valve at a laboratory satisfactory
to the Bureau of Ships. Qualification inspection shall consist of fhe examina- “
tion in 4.5 and the tests specified in 4.2. 1, 4. 2.2 and 4.6. “
Page 6Pparagraph 4.2.1: Delete and substitute:
“4.2.1 High impact shock test.- Each type of thermostat ~d the largest
size of each model temperature regulating valve shall be shock tested as
specified for type A of IvlIL-S-901.
The valve shall be tested in the open ;
position and in the closed position.
The test shall be conducted prior to the
performance tests (see 4.2. 2), and the quality conformance tests (see 4. 6);
the correction of damage which tnay have occurred during shock tests shall
not be performed prior to these tests.
Evidence of fragmentation or missile
effect of parts and deformation of parts that will cause active interference’
between parts shall be cause for rejection.
