MILITARY SPECIFICATION
VALVES, AIRCRAFT POWER BRAKE
This amendment forms a part of Military Specifi-
cation MIL-V-5525C, dated 21 October 1959, and
is approved for use by all Departments and Agen-
cies of the Department of Defense.
Page 1, paragraph 1.1 - Delete and substitute:
1.1.1 This specification covers power brake valves for use in type I
(-54

to 71°C (-650
0
to 160°F)) and type II (-54° to 135°F (-65
0
to 275°F))
aircraft hydraulic wheel brake subsystem having operating pressures not
exceeding 3,000 pounds per inch (psi)”.
Page 1, paragraph 2.1, under military specifications - Add:
"MIL-H-5440 - Hydraulic Systems, Aircraft Type I and II, Design
Installation, And Data Requirements for".
"MIL-B-5984 - Braje Systems, Wheel, Aircraft, Design of".
Page 2, paragraph 3.3 - Delete and substitute:
“3.3 Design and Construction
3.3.1 General - The configuration and dimensions of power brake
valves shall-m to the applicable manufacturer’s drawing as governed
by specification MIL-H-5440).
3.3.2 Output pressure - The output pressure requirements shall be
governed by the brake system being operated.
3.3.3 Travel - Full plunger travel shall give maximum pressure at
the brake port of the valve. The pressure versus travel curve shall be
as shown on the applicable specification control drawing”.
page 2, paragraph 4.1 - Add to the beginning of paragraph:
“Responsibility for inspection”.
