SPECIFICATION
VALVE, LUBRICATING OIL COOLER, PETROLEUM BASE,
TEMPERATURE REGULATING WITH SURGE PROTECTION
This specification is approved for use by all Department of Air Force and is available for use by all
Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 - Scope. This specification covers temperature regulating, surge protection oil cooler valves incorporating
pressure relief bypass, for use with petroleum base oils.
1.2 Classification.
Oil cooler valves shall have a maximum continuous oil flow capacity, and shall be one of
the following classes, as specified (see 6.2):
Class 1 -300 pounds per minute capacity
Class 2- 425 pounds per minute capacity.
