MILITARY SPECIFICATION
VALVES, CONTROL TYPE, MAGAZINE, AND HANGAR DECK SPRINKLER
This amendment forms a part of MIL-V-17501F(SH), dated 29 October
1990, and is approved for use by the Naval Sea Systems Command,
Department of the Navy and is available for use by all
Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.

3.1: Delete and substitute:
“3.1 First article.
When specified (see 6.2), a sample
shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3 and
6.5).”
3.2, third sentence:
Delete “qualification” and substitute
“first article”.

4.3.1: Delete and substitute:
“4,3.1 Sample. One valve of each type and class shall be
selected as a sample for first article inspection.
Each sample
shall be produced with equipment and procedures normally used in
production.
First article approval of a type I, class 1, 2-inch
size valve shall qualify the l-inch through 3-1/2 inch size
valve.
First article approval of a type I, class 1, 6-inch size
valve shall qualify the 4- through 8-inch size valve.
Other
valves covered by this specification shall have each type, class,
and size separately inspected for first article acceptance.
Sample valves shall be subjected to and pass the test
requirements ae specified.”
