SUBJECT: Department of the Air Force Guidance Memorandum (DAFGM) to Department of
the Air Force Instruction (DAFI) 24-302, Vehicle Management
1. By Order of the Secretary of the Air Force, Air Force Instruction AFI 24-302, Vehicle
Management, is re-designated Department of the Air Force Instruction (DAFI) 24-302, and this
DAF Guidance Memorandum (DAFGM) immediately implements changes to DAFI 24-302.
Compliance with this memorandum is mandatory. To the extent its directions are inconsistent with
other Air Force publications, the information herein prevails, in accordance with
DAFI 90-160, Publications and Forms Management.
2. This DAFGM applies to all civilian employees and uniformed members of the Regular Air
Force, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, the United States Space Force, and those activities
with a contractual obligation to abide by the terms of DAF issuances.
3. This DAFGM changes the following: renumbers AFI 24-302 to DAFI 24-302, language to
satisfy DAF lease vehicle audit findings; Joint-Light Tactical Vehicle program guidance; fleet
management authorization, classification, and foreign buy updates; Fleet Fuel Card program
invoice processing guidance; tire inspection language/guidance; vehicle acquisition “order of
precedence”; and establishes new Chapter 14, Vehicle Telematics, to include program exemption
guidance.
