This publication implements Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 36-29, Military Standards, and
Title 37, United States Code (USC), Section 908. This publication applies to all Regular Air
Force (RegAF), Air Force Reserve (AFR) and Air National Guard (ANG) officers and enlisted
receiving retirement pay. This publication is written through collaboration with the Chief of Air
Force Reserve (AF/RE) and the Director of the Air National Guard Bureau (NGB/CF), the
Deputy Chief of Staff for Manpower, Personnel, and Services (AF/A1). This instruction requires
the collection and or maintenance of information protected by the Privacy Act of 1974
authorized by Title 10 USC Section 9013, Secretary of the Air Force. The applicable Privacy
Act System of Record Notices F036 AFPC P, Separation Case Files (Officer and Airman), F033
