This publication implements Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 44-1, Medical Operations. It
establishes roles and responsibilities and provides guidance and procedures on the Air Force
Cancer Program. It applies to all Regular Air Force uniformed members and civilian employees
who diagnose and/or treat cancer, or prepare, manage, or oversee cancer registry operations. It
does not apply to members or employees of the Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve. This
publication may be supplemented at any level, but all supplements must be routed to the Office of
Primary Responsibility (OPR) listed above for coordination prior to certification and approval.
Refer recommended changes and questions about this publication to the OPR listed above using
the Air Force (AF) Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication; route AF Forms 847
from the field through the appropriate chain of command. This Instruction requires the collection
and/or maintenance of information protected by the Privacy Act of 1974 authorized by 10 U.S.C.
Chapter 55, Medical and Dental Care. The applicable SORN F044 AF SG L, Medical Treatment

requirements in this publication are identified with a Tier (“T-0, T-1, T-2, T-3”) number following
