This publication implements Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 41-2, Medical Support, and Air
Force Instruction (AFI) 41-209, Medical Logistics Support. It provides guidance for establishing
an accountable system of property records using DMLSS. The DMLSS system establishes
requisition, purchase, receipt, storage, issue, shipment, disposition, stock control, and accounting
procedures for Air Force medical stock record accounts. It also establishes requirements for
equipment maintenance and facility management operations. It applies to all Air Force military
treatment facilities and all other users of the DMLSS system including Air National Guard and Air
Force Reserve. This publication may not be supplemented. Send comments and suggested
improvements on AF Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication; route AF Form 847
from the field through the appropriate functional chain of command to Air Force Medical
Operations Agency, Medical Logistics (AFMOA/SGM), 693 Neiman Street, Fort Detrick, MD
21702-5006. See AFI 33-360, Publications and Forms Management, for a description of the
authorities associated with Tier (T-0, T-1, T-2, T-3) numbers following compliance statements.
Submit requests for waivers through the chain of command to the appropriate Tier waiver approval
authority, or alternately, to the requestor’s commander for non-tiered compliance items. Ensure
all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in
accordance with Air Force Manual 33-363, Management of Records, and disposed of in
accordance with the Air Force Records Information Management System (AFRIMS) Records
Disposition Schedule located at https://www.my.af.mil/afrims/afrims/afrims/rims.cfm. The
