This Directive states the mission, defines the command structure, and establishes the
responsibilities of Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC). Refer recommended changes
and questions about this publication to the office of primary responsibility using Air Force Form
847, Recommendation for Change of Publication; route Air Force Forms 847 from field units
through the appropriate functional chain of command. Ensure that all records created as a result
of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with (IAW) Air Force
Manual (AFMAN) 33-363, Management of Records, and disposed of IAW the Air Force
Records Disposition Schedule in the Air Force Records Information Management System.
SUMMARY OF CHANGES
This document has been substantially revised and must be completely reviewed. This revision
includes the addition of the B-1 bomber, National Leadership Command Capability (NLCC)/Air
Force Nuclear Command Control and Communications (NC3) weapon system (except the Senior
Leader Command, Control, and Communications System (SLC3S)), E-4B National Airborne
Operations Center, and Mobile Consolidated Command Center (MCCC) to the list of AFGSC
major command (MAJCOM) lead programs.
1. Mission. AFGSC develops and provides safe, secure, and effective combat-ready forces to
conduct deterrence and global strike operations in support of the President of the United States
(U.S.) and Combatant Commanders. AFGSC organizes, trains, and equips forces for joint or
combined operations in the roles of force application, force enhancement, and force support
operations.
