This policy directive implements Department of Defense Directive 3110.07, Pre-Positioned War
Reserve Materiel (PWRM) Strategic Policy, Department of Defense Instruction 3110.06, War
Reserve Materiel (WRM) Policy, and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Instruction 4310.01D,
Logistics Planning Guidance for Pre-Positioned War Reserve Materiel. This directive provides
war reserve materiel policy in support of national defense strategy. This publication applies to
all civilian and regular Air Force personnel, members of the Air Force Reserve Command and
Air National Guard units. Refer recommended changes and questions about this publication to
the office of primary responsibility using the Air Force Form 847, Recommendation for Change
of Publication; route Air Form Forms 847 from the field through major command
publications/forms managers. Ensure all records created as a result of processes prescribed in
this publication are maintained in accordance with Air Force Manual 33-363, Management of
Records, and disposed of in accordance with Air Force Records Disposition Schedule in the Air
Force Records Information Management System.
SUMMARY OF CHANGES
This document has been substantially revised and must be completely reviewed. This revision
(1) assigns roles and responsibilities for war reserve materiel management, (2) revises policy
statements, and (3) adds war reserve materiel readiness and status reporting requirements.
