This instruction implements Air Force policy directive (AFDP) 48-1, Aerospace & Operational
Medicine Enterprise; supports AFDP 10-29, Worldwide Aeromedical Evacuation Operations; and
establishes, defines, and implements standardized clinical training in the Air Force (AF)
Aeromedical Evacuation (AE) System. This publication applies to all military and civilian
personnel of the regular Air Force (RegAF), Air Force Reserve (AFR) and Air National Guard
(ANG). This publication does not apply to the United States Space Force. This Instruction requires
the collection and or maintenance of information protected by the Privacy Act of 1974 authorized
by Department of Defense instruction (DoDI) 6025.18, Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule Compliance In DoD Health Care Programs, and DoDI
8580.02, Security of Individually Identifiable Health Information in DoD Health Care Programs.
