This publication implements AFPD 11-2, Aircrew Operations, Air Force Instruction (AFI) 11-
200, Aircrew Training, Standardization/Evaluation, and General Operations Structure, and AFI
11-202, Volume 1, Aircrew Training. Along with major command (MAJCOM) and local
procedures, this publication prescribes standard procedures used by all pilots operating an Air
Force T-41, T-51, or T-53 aircraft. This publication applies to all Regular Air Force and federal
civilian employees flying the T-41, T-51 and T-53. With the exception of associate instructor pilot
(IP) personnel, this publication does not apply to the Air Force Reserve Command and Air National
Guard. The authorities to waive wing/unit level requirements in this publication are identified with
a Tier (“T-0, T-1, T-2, T-3”) number following the compliance statement. See AFI 33-360,
Publications and Forms Management, for a description of the authorities associated with the Tier
numbers. Submit requests for waivers through the chain of command to the appropriate Tier waiver
approval authority, or alternately, to the requestor’s commander for non-tiered compliance items.
Field units below MAJCOM-level will coordinate copies of their supplements with their parent
MAJCOM Stan/Eval office prior to approval. Refer recommended changes and questions about
this publication to the OPR using AF Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication; route
AF Forms 847 from the field through the appropriate Stan/Eval functional chain. Ensure that all
records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance
with Air Force Manual 33-363, Management of Records, and disposed of in accordance with the
Air Force Records Disposition Schedule located in the Air Force Records Information
