This manual implements Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 13-1, Command and Control
Enterprise (C2 Enterprise). This manual is technical and targeted toward a specific audience with
training and familiarization with the subject matter. This document is intended for use by Airmen
familiar with its contents. It is applicable to all Regular Air Force (RegAF), National Guard
Bureau (NGB), and Air Force Reserve (AFR) units that have individual Joint Terminal Attack
Controllers (JTAC) assigned, or are tasked to execute Close Air Support (CAS) missions in
support of ground forces. This publication may be supplemented at any level, but all supplements
that directly implement this publication must be routed to Headquarters Air Force, Close Air
Support Branch (AF/A3TC) for coordination prior to certification and approval. Refer
recommended changes and questions about this publication to the Office of Primary
Responsibility (OPR) using the AF Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication; route
AF Forms 847 from the field through the appropriate functional chain of command. This
publication requires the collection and or maintenance of information protected by the Privacy
Act (PA) of 1974. The authorities to collect and/or maintain the records prescribed in this
manual are Title 37 United States Code, Section 301a and Executive Order 9397 (SSN) as
amended by Executive Order 13478, Amendments to Executive Order 9397 Relating to Federal
