Management and Information Governance Program. It applies to all Headquarters Air Force
(HAF) military, civilian employees, and contractor personnel. Send recommended changes and

1. Overview. Records play a vital role in managing and operating Air Force activities. In
simple terms, records document official business, serve as the memory of the organization,
record past events, and are the basis for future actions. Every Air Force activity must manage its
records to achieve legal and regulatory accountability requirements. This HOI provides
guidance to HAF organizations to manage their records federal regulations and Air Force
