1. PURPOSE
Pursuant to the authority of the Secretary of Defense under reference (a), this Directive
designates the Director, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), as the DoD Executive Agent
(EA) for Bulk Petroleum for the Department of Defense (DoD), with authority to re-
delegate to the Defense Energy Support Center in accordance with reference (b).
2. APPLICABILITY AND SCOPE
2.1. This Directive applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Military
Departments, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Combatant Commands, the
Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, the Defense Agencies, the
DoD Field Activities, and all the organizational entities in the Department of Defense
(hereafter referred to collectively as the "DoD Components"). The term "Military
Services," as used herein, refers to the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, and the Marine
Corps.
2.2. This Directive addresses the roles, responsibilities, and authorities of the DoD
EA for Bulk Petroleum and the relationship of the DoD EA for Bulk Petroleum to the
other DoD Components worldwide in peacetime, wartime, and contingencies other than
war.
