TEMPORARY DUTY TRAVEL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

History. This publication is a rapid action revision to this regulation. The portions affected are
listed in the summary of change.
Summary. This regulation establishes policies and procedures for the effective management
and control of temporary duty (TDY) travel.
Applicability. This regulation applies to all personnel assigned to or under the operational
control of Headquarters, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) and personnel
assigned to major subordinate organizations (MSOs), special activities and field operating activities,
schools and centers
.
Proponent and exception to authority. The proponent of this regulation is Deputy Chief of
Staff (DCS), G-8. The proponent has the authority to approve exceptions or waivers to this
regulation that are consistent with controlling laws and regulations. Activities may request a
waiver to this regulation by providing justification that includes a full analysis of the issue and a
formal review by the activity's senior legal officer. All waiver requests will be endorsed by the
senior leader of the requesting activity and forwarded through higher headquarters to the policy
proponent.
