1. PURPOSE. This Instruction establishes the Coast Guard (CG) Enterprise Data
Management (EDM) Policy in accordance with Reference (a). It identifies the authority,
roles, and responsibilities for governing CG data to ensure compliance with guidance
provided in References (b) through (m).
2. ACTION. All Coast Guard unit commanders, commanding officers, officers-in-charge,
deputy/assistant commandants, and chiefs of headquarters staff elements shall comply
with the provisions of this policy. Internet release is authorized.
