14. ABSTRACT
This Test Operations Procedure (TOP) provides background information on testing of military systems for operation in
the cold regions. Information is presented on the effects of the cold environment on materiel and Military Systems.
Materiel covered includes tank/automotive systems, weapons, soldier systems, support equipment, communications and
information systems equipment, and small arms. This is an overview TOP and is organized to provide knowledge on
what material effects can be expected in order to safely conduct tests in the cold environment.
