FEDERAL SPECIFICATION
PIPE AND FITTINGS, PLASTIC
(POLYVINYL CHLORIDE, PVC, DRAIN,
WASTE, AND VENT, DWV)
This specification was approved by the Commissioner, Federal
Supply Service, General Services Administration, for the use
of all Federal agencies.
1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Scope. This specification covers polyvinyl chloride (PVC) drain,
waste, and vent (DWV) pipe and fittings.
1.2 Classification.
1.2.1 Pipe. PVC pipe shall be in straight lengths with plain ends.
1.2.2 Fittings. Type, size and end connection of fittings shall be as
specified (see 6.2 and 6.4).
1.2.3 Size, pipe. Size and length of pipe shall be as follows and as
specified (see 6.2):
Pipe lengths - 10 and 20 feet (3.1 and 6.1 m).
Sizes - 1-1/4, 1-1/2, 2, 3, and 4 inches.
32, 38, 51, 76 and 100 mm.
