FEDERAL SPECIFICATION
PLASTIC SHEET AND STRIP, POLYESTER
This specification was approved by the Commissioner, Federal
Supply Service, General Services Administration, for use of all
Federal Agencies.
1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Scope. This specification covers polyester type plastic film.
1.2 Classification.
1.2.1 Types. Polyester film shall be of the following types, as specified (see 6.2):
IÄÄÄGeneral purpose film.
IIÄÄHighly transparent film.
IIIÄHighly transparent film with good dimensional stability.
IVÄÄHigh tensile film with the greatest strength in the longitudinal direction.
VÄÄÄWeatherable film possessing good transparency and resistance ot outdoor aging.
VIÄÄHeat shrinkable film.
2. APPLICABLE SPECIFICATIONS, STANDARDS, AND OTHER PUBLICATIONS
2.1 Specifications and standards. The following specifications and standards, of the
issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request for proposal, form a part of this
specification to the extent specified herein.
