1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Scope. This specification covers the
product generally known in the naval stores
industry a.i pine oil, the terpene oil obtilned
from the wood of the longleaf yellow pine
tree (see 6.1).
1.2 ,Clea&tieatiOn.
1.2.1 Types and grude. The pine oil cov-
ered by this specification shall be of the grade
generally known in the trade as “standard”,
and shall be of tbe following types, as speci-
fied (see 6.2):
Type I.—Steam distilled pine oil, sulphate
pine oil, or synthetic pine oil.
Type 11.—Destructively distill~d pine oil.
Type HI.-’’Commercipiri eirie oil.
