FEDERAL SPECIFICATION
FERTILIZER, MIXED, COMMERCIAL
This specification was approved by the Commissioner, Federal Supply
Service, General Services Administration, for the use of all Federal
agencies.
1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Scope. This specification covers a commercial fertilizer mixture
containing either two or three of the primary plant nutrients, namely, nitrogen
(N), available phosphoric acid (PÚ2¿OÚ5¿), and potash (KÚ2¿O). Secondary and
micro plant nutrients may also be included in the mixture. These mixtures may be
applied directly to the soil in solid or liquid form.
1.2 Classification.
1.2.1 Types and classes. Commercial mixed fertilizer shall be of the
following types and classes and shall be furnished according to the grades
specified in the invitation for bids (see 6.2).
Type I - Solid form
Class 1 - Powdered or pulverized.
Class 2 - Granular or pelleted.
Type II - Liquid form.
Class 1 - Solution.
Class 2 - Suspension.
Class 3 - Slurry.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 The following documents, of the issues in effect on date of invitation
for bids or request for proposal, form a part of this specification to the extent
specified herein.
