INTERIM AMENDMENT
TO
FEDERAL SPECIFICATION
DUNNAGE, PNEUMATIC, CARGO SHORING
This interim amendment was developed by the General Services Adminis-
tration, Federal Supply Service, Washington, DC 20406, based upon
currently available technical information.
It is recommended that
Federal agencies use it in procurement l nd forward recommendations
for changes to the preparing activity at the address show above.
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
interim amendment as a valid exception to Federal Specification
PPP-P-1427A, dated January 29, 1973.

Delete reference to PPP-B-636.

Delete “Tariff Order Section” and substitute “Traffic Department”.

Type 1, delete paragraph in its entirety and substitute the following:
“3.6.1 Type 1 (disposable).
No special identification shall be required on Type I dunnage bags.
The supplier’s commercial identity shall be acceptable.”

Paragraph 4.6.1.3 Examination, line 4, delete “... for Level A or B“.
Paragraph 5.1 Packaging,
delete section 5.1 in its entirety and substitute the following:
“5.1 Packaging.
Packaging shall be Level A or Commercial, as specified (see 6.2). Type I and
Type II Dunnage Bags shall be packaged in accordance with normal commercial practice for level A
and Commercial.”

Paragraph 5.2.2 and 5.2.3, delete in their entirety and substitute the following:
“5.2.2 Commercial.
The dunnage bags, types I and II,
shall be packed in accordance with normal
comnercial practice that will assure acceptance by common carrier, provide safe product delivery in
multiple shipment and be in compliance with National Motor Freight Classification or Unifom
Freight Classification rules.”
